So I am going mad with recycling fever. I'm making stuff out of plarn all the time, but I'm also recycling scrap fabric into rag rugs and new clothing items. (Ugly shirt with decent sleeves = arm warmers + rag yarn, etc.) I've got a loom that I'm using to weave my own rag fabric out of fabric scraps, and big bags of plastic bottles that will be something else soon. Ahaha. I really need a camera to show you guys. Does anyone else recycle actively, or just put it in the recycling bin and be done with it?

I mainly fill the bin because a lifetime of collecting crafty things means I have millions of boxes full of stuff and need to give away rather than keep to recycle. Immediately after moving here my back collapsed and it turned out cancer had grown around and crushed a vertebrae. That was removed and my back pinned back together with steel rods and nuts and bolts. then I had lumbar punctures (one of which was done incorrectly and nearly killed me) and then chemo and then radiotherapy. then they ran out of tortures and let me get better. But now - four and a half years later - I'm still struggling to unpack stuff and sort out what I want to keep and what to give away. Working full time wears me out and I'm not really fit to do anything evenings and weekends. As I unpack I'll let you know what I find and if anyone wants anything I'll be happy to send it to them. I'm sure junk comes through from another dimension to fill this flat. I KNOW I've never seen some of the stuff before.

Hahaha, well definitely let me know if there's anything you want to get rid of that looks interesting. We can do trades and stuff! I'm so sorry to hear about your problems, though. I have some severe problems myself--recycling stuff for entertainment value is all I can do, so I know what you mean about being utterly wiped.

I used to recycle a bit, and have some stuff piled up that I "mean" to get round to - mostly rag ruggie things. I have had a shot a a "sediment Blanket! - which is described on Ravelry - and used up all sorts of unravelled yarn/ ugly bits of yarn to make it. Very heavy work - best kept for winter knitting.
Sorry you had probs daisy. I'm working my way through some unpleasant stomach probs and an op I had to have last Sept (when the op turned out to be much bigger than expected when they had a look inside)
ooooooh, lumbar puncture! That was very firmly on my "never" list, then I sort of had no choice about 6 weeks ago. It went Ok, though i had side effects afterwards. Worse than having it is all the warnings beforehand...
