My da's cat could actually say 'No'. And he knew how to use it, too. "Do you want to go to the vet?" "Nnnnyooooo." "Do you want a bath?" "Nnnnyooooo." "Do you want a fish?" "PURR? ?" "Do you want the vacuum turned on?" "Nnnnnyooooo." "Do you want some cream?" "PURRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!"

I once had a cat who loved to ride in the car, his feet on the side window ledge, looking at the world going by. When he'd get tired and have to sit down for a bit, he'd talk to me. I could ask him a question, and he'd meow. Or make a comment, and he'd meow. No matter what little phrase I'd say -- even total nonsense, he'd act interested and meow back.

Hogan is lovely. How can children resist pulling that tail?
